It is with great reluctance that we will be saying goodbye to Herman Mus in mid-2026. In June, he will reach the age of retirement and become eligible for a state pension. As the board of Park Startbaan, we have enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with Herman over the past eight years. His commitment to the park and the quality of the pitches has been and remains outstanding. We are therefore very reluctant to say goodbye to his professional expertise and dedication.
An announcement will be made in due course about how we will bid Herman a fitting farewell. We will provide more information about this in the new yearThe board has been busy looking for a successor.
There are not many good and experienced professionals in this field. But we are very happy to have found an excellent successor in Gijs Abelen. Gijs is currently the groundsman at Tennispark Buitenveldert. He will be trained by Herman in March and April. After that, Herman will continue to serve as a substitute upon request.
