New billiard balls and new sheets
For those who regularly rent a box of billiard balls from the bar (for only 2 euros each time), there is good news: brand new balls are available again. The “old” balls are now over a year old, time for replacement. The “old balls” will slide through and come into the cabinet of the billiard room for free availability. The balls in that locker are now no more than 2 years old. New balls: really, billiard player, they will make you play better.
In addition, we are currently replacing step by step on Fridays between April 25 and May 16 all the sheets on both the carambolet tables and the match tables. We are doing this on the schedule of replacing once every seven months.
The billiard ladder
Currently the final round of the spring ladder is underway and things are exciting at the top. The number 1 at the moment Jur Kous will soon meet the number 2, Marco Robijns. So a real final. The next summer ladder starts soon, on May 19. For that ladder we are doing something extra. Among the participants we raffle off a free trial lesson in billiards with one of our experienced billiards instructors. More information and registration for the billiard ladder here.
KNBB Regional Finals
On May 17 and 18, one of the Regional Finales libre will take place in our Billiard Centre.Teams from quite a bit of the country are competing for a place in the national finals. From Amsterdam a team from Victoria is participating, but we will also welcome teams from Amersfoort, Biddinghuizen, Hilversum, IJsselstein and Zoelen (near Tiel). Unfortunately no snooker can be played that weekend and the availability of other tables is also limited.
Revisie van de telborden
Overhaul of the counting boards
The counting boards showed a lot of malfunctions. Especially the hand controls were jacked up here and there. RBCA members Paul Duncker and Frans Balke, both with technical backgrounds at elevator company Otis, took it upon themselves to overhaul the systems. New buttons, overhaul of soldering etc.
Very well done men, and on behalf of all billiard players thank you very much!
