Our neighbors, Athletics Club Startbaan, are organizing the National Relay Championships on September 28 and 29. Participants will be coming to Amstelveen from all over the Netherlands. This event is held annually. The competitions start at 10:00 a.m.
For billiard players, padel players, and tennis players who come to play at Park Startbaan that weekend, the parking pressure will be noticeable. In addition to our own parking lot, the parking lots at De Meerkamp swimming pool and the International School will also be available (with a shortcut to Park Startbaan). Traffic controllers will be present at the entrance to Startbaan.
A call to all athletes at Park Startbaan: come by bike or public transport as much as possible!
That weekend, there will also be league matches for billiards (1 team on Saturday), padel (1 team on Saturday and 1 team on Sunday), and tennis (3 teams on Saturday and 4 teams on Sunday). A call to all team captains: inform your opponents in good time about the expected parking congestion. Advise them to come by bicycle or public transport, and if the team does come by car: arrive well in advance, as parking may take a little longer due to the congestion.
