Summary of padel survey
In mid-September, we sent a survey to all regular padel players via this newsletter. With 31 responses, the response rate was not very high, but the fact that almost all respondents filled in the open items indicates a high level of engagement. We are therefore very pleased with the responses.
The padel survey shows that players are satisfied with Park Startbaan, mainly because of its location, atmosphere, good courts, catering facilities, and free parking. At the same time, there is a clear desire for more (and possibly covered) courts, so that there are more playing opportunities in winter and when it is busy.
⭐ Key findings
Frequency of play: Most players play padel 2–6 times a month; Park Startbaan is a regular but not exclusive playing location.
Why do they choose Startbaan?: The location is by far the most important reason, followed by availability, catering, and tranquility.
Reservations: The system works well, although canceling is sometimes difficult.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere at the park is perceived as open, friendly, and pleasant.
Catering: Appreciation is high, but prices are regularly mentioned as being too high.
What would help them play more often?: More availability, covered/indoor courts, and extra activities/tournaments.
Communication: The newsletter remains the most important channel; WhatsApp and social media are still rarely used.
🎯 Conclusion
Park Startbaan scores highly on appearance, location, and atmosphere. Growth in padel mainly lies in increased capacity and winter-proof facilities. Digital visibility could also be improved, for example via Playtomic.
