The Amstelveen press recently reported on the decision by Amstelveen’s municipal council to provide financial backing for the indoor sports hall project through a municipal guarantee. This means that the loan used to finance the purchase of the indoor sports hall is now secured for the bank.

We are still awaiting the planning permission, which the council has not issued within the usual eight weeks. We have been informed that the council requires up to six weeks longer. This does not jeopardise the schedule, but it does mean that all decisions are now concentrated within a very short timeframe.

Following the positive decision at the General Meeting of the LTC Startbaan tennis club and in response to feedback from members, the board seriously considered placing the air-dome on court sections 9-10; however, following the technical assessment we carried out, it was decided to abandon this plan and instead place the airdrome on court sections 3-4.

From week 32 in August (starting 3 August), preparatory work will take place in and around courts 3-4. We will provide a separate update on this as soon as we have the exact details.

Finally, there is good news from the administration. At present, 60% of the hours in the drying hall have already been booked! This means we are breaking even financially. A huge relief, and a result we are very pleased with. It underlines our assessment that the drying hall will meet a significant need
